Tonya D Fanning

Tonya Denise Fanning, daughter of the late Carol Davis and John D. Bowman was born on February 20, 1969 and departed this life on October 22, 2022.

Tonya graduated from Lexington High School with the Class of 1987. She also graduated from Remington College in 2017.

Tonya was a loving mother to her sons.  She was employed with Lexington School District 1 from 2003 until her health declined.  She also worked with Babcock Center for many years.  Tonya was a faithful member of Springhill AME Church where she served on the choir and the usher board until her health declined.

Tonya was preceded in death by her Mother, Carol Davis; maternal Grandparents, Handy and Gladys Davis, and her paternal Grandparents David and Betty Bowman. 

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life, her Sons, Quajuan Pinkard, Shavar (Kayla) Fanning, Ikeem (Ashley) Brooker and Shontavis (Sharina) Davis; her Father, John (Carolyn) Bowman; Sisters, Shawn (Ike) Brooker, Erika (Chris) Bloome, Amy (Bruce) Colter and Johnya (Damon) Dowling; Grandchildren, Isaiah, Jayden, Zayden, Nova, Kanien, Jaqueline and Jeremi; Aunts Sharon Caldwell, Derrial Gardner, Betty Draft, Ann Bowman, and Kim Bowman; Special Aunt, Ann Walker; Uncles, Billy (Tina) Bowman, Charles (Connie) Bowman, and Chris Bowman; Special Friends, Rhonda S. Mitchell, Debbie Gantt, Greta Robinson, Bernadette Jeffcoat, Carla Cook and a host of great aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives whose lives she has touched.

Funeral services for Tonya will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 3:00 pm.  There will be a viewing held at the Lexington Funeral Home  Chapel on Friday from 2 to 6 pm.
