On January 16, 2022, the angel of mercy came to rescue Robert Fitzgerald Landy from the life of pain and suffering. “BASE”, as he is better known, is the son of Mary D. Faust and the late Robert Lee Landy. He was also the loving stepson of the late Jerry Faust. Robert was born on January 28, 1970. He never married. He had been asked, “do you have any children?” His answer… “all children are my children. I can always send them home to their parents.”
Robert attended elementary and middle schools of Wagener and graduated from Wagener-Salley High School 1988. While attending Wagener-Salley HS, he was active in sports playing basketball and football. He was part of the Wagener-Salley Football Lower State Champions in 1987. He then attended Denmark Technical College where he received an Associate Degree in Auto Paint and Body. He worked for a while at Robert Felder Body and Auto Repair. He has worked at several places, ASCO, Contract work at SRP, Michelin and his last job was at Hubbell.
At an early age, he became a member of Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church. He was a member of the Youth Choir, he worked for a while as an Usher, a technical assistant for the sound system and a Trustee. He enjoyed the time he had at Jerusalem Branch. Base, Robert, was a friend and neighbor to all people. He had a good heart and believed that everyone else was good. He could fix anything. The family knew if there was something mechanical, electrical or computer related, call Bobby, he knew how to fix it. He had a great mind to look at a project and know exactly how it should be fixed. There is not enough paper to put into focus all that he was and what he was capable of. The people who knew him understand the meaning of that sentence.
Robert is survived by his mother Mary Faust, one brother, Christopher M. Landy, nieces, Brittney N. Brown and Karley M. Landy, his nephew, Ryan C. Landy, his stepsisters, Stephanie F. (David) White and Tonya F. (Quentin) Corbitt, a stepbrother, Stephon (Tonya) Faust, aunts, Brendalyn (Lewis) Kitchings, Samuretta (Emanuel) Muldrow, Mildred Christian, Bertha Green, Patricia (Marilyn) Tyler, Gwen Edwards, Anita Landy, and Debra (Ronnie) Tyler. Two great aunts, Margaret Davis and Charity Davis, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Belinda Jones and Shenequa Washington of Regency Southern Care Hospice Services.
