Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held on Thursday December 8th, at 2:00 pm at New Bethel AME Church, 500 S. Lake Drive, Lexington South Carolina.  There will be a viewing for Mr. Jones on Wednesday December 7th from 2 to 6 pm at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home of Lexington, South Carolina.

Robert Jones Jr., son of the Late Lula Mae Wise and the Late Robert Jones Sr. of Leesville South Carolina was born on May 27, 1931 in Leesville, South Carolina.

Robert departed this live on Sunday, December 4, 2022, while surrounded by his children.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Jones of 51 years.

Robert served in the U.S. Army.  After a tour in Korea, he was assigned to Fort Bragg Army Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Boone, as he was called by his family and friends, worked at Carolina Gravure for many years until he retired.

Robert married Mary E. Davis on March 21, 1959.  They were blessed with nine children, four of which preceded him in passing, Alexander, Dwight, Alton and Karen.

Robert joined New Bethel AME Church, then under the leadership of Reverend Leroy Cannon.  He was named Father of The Year in 2007 while under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Elaine Eskew.

Robert was a quiet, friendly person who loved his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his loving children, Patricia Chandler, Linda Davis, Phyllis (Steve) Taylor, Robin C. Jones and Albert Gene Jones; 28 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, 2 brothers-in-law, 6 sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
