Nicholas Taylor Obituary

A Time To Be Born:

On February 5, 1960, Margaret Carldean Taylor and the late Clark Benjamin Thompson, welcomed a beautiful bundle of joy into their lives and named him Nicholas Jacques Taylor. On July 22, 2019, at 11:00 p.m. his mother “Margaret” surrendered her firstborn into eternal rest in the home in which he was raised.

A Time To Live

Nick as he was known, touched many lives, as he shared his many handyman skills as a carpenter and plumber. Nick educated and graduated from Lexington High School in the Class of 1978. At a very young age, he joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Nick enjoyed his life and lived it his way. His fondness for music, family, and community was unsurpassed when he was able to commit and do so.

A Time To Grieve

Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Carl William, and Mrs. Hazel Strother Taylor; Mr. Paul and Mary Thompson and a sister Miakey Davis.  He was preceded in death by many other relatives: aunts, uncles, great aunts, and great uncles. Before his death, he made certain that he paid all reverence and respect to the woman that raised him his grandmother The Late Hazel Elizabeth Strother – Taylor who preceded him in death who was an active member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church her entire life. One thing she instilled in him was “Only what you do for Christ will “last” and “make sure you put your family first, nothing else matters.”

A Time To Mourn:

Nick leaves to live in the precious hearts of many, his mother Margaret Carldean “Cookie” Taylor–Faulks, a brother Kerry Myron Taylor (Robin) of Lexington, South Carolina, and a sister Marguerite Regina Faulks–Murray, Lexington, South Carolina. He was blessed by his father to have nine (9) other siblings Quiana Hampton, Lexington, South Carolina, Anthony Bethea of West Columbia, Benjamin (Marilyn) and Daryll Thompson of Batesburg – Leesville, Tonya (Barry) Gallman of Little Mountain, Tikethia “Chee Chee” Thompson, of Columbia, South Carolina, Wendy (Kevin) Bates of Irmo, South Carolina and Clarsha (Willie) Frederick of Lonton, Virginia, one step-sister Kimya “Kim” (Keith) Hayes of Fayetteville, GA, One Uncle Allen (Bessie) Thompson,  Two Aunts Mrs. Thelma Powell – Strother and  he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends.

A special memory he held dear was his beloved Nurse Tonya Jennings and his Physician, Dr. King.

Last but not least, he leaves behind man’s best friend, his precious treasure of a German Shepard, Aaliyah.
