Minister Michael O’Neal Seawright was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who departed this life on October 7, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born on April 24, 1957 to the Late Wilson and Nancy Mae Seawright. He grew up in Aiken County, South Carolina and graduated from Wagener-Salley High School.
Minister Seawright had a passion for serving God and his community. He was the youth minister at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Salley, South Carolina, where he inspired and mentored many young people. He also had a love for driving and worked as a truck driver for over 43 years, retiring from the Thomas Concrete Company.
He was also a loving father-in-law, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother Nancy Ann Johnson, his grandfather Edward Dunbar, his son Michael F. Howard, his daughter Shakiah Deon Seawright; sister Sarah Diane Seawright, and his brother Bobby Lee Seawright.
Minister Seawright leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories of the life he lived; his wife Rosetta T. Seawright of North, South Carolina; whom he married in 1981. They were blessed with seven children, six of whom survive him; their names are Jennifer E. Nelums, Maurice L. Lawton, Ronsome T. Howard, Michell D. Lawton, Christopher O. (Kendra) Seawright and Alexander W. (India) Seawright; Three sisters Dorothy S. (Steve) Kirk, Linda Seawright Roulac and Bertha C. Seawright; Four brothers Roosevelt (Paulette) Seawright, Larry M. ”Dokk Elle” (Patrice) Seawright, Eddie L. Seawright and Willie A. Seawright; 23 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Minister Seawright will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
