Mamie Miller Obituary

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

                                                                                                                                                   Proverbs 31:31

Mamie Sue Miller, daughter of the late Clifton Tony Williams and the late Marie Williams Edwards was born on March 13, 1953, and transitioned to her heavenly home on March 16, 2024.

At an early age Mamie joined Saron Baptist Church where she grew in her faith and became a lifelong member.   She loved her church and her church family.

Mamie attended the schools of Aiken County and graduated from Wagener-Salley High School with the class of ’72.

Mamie started her working career at Salley Manufacturing while she was still in high school.  In her later years she worked at Wagener Manufacturing and Aiken Sewing Room.  She over the years worked other jobs and ended her career as a Foster Grandparent in the Aiken County School System.  She was dearly loved by every one of the children as they all called her Grandma Mamie.

Mamie was preceded in passing by her parents, brother Hyman Williams, sister Audrey Williams, and son-in-law Malcolm Patten.

Those left to cherish the memories of the life of Mamie Sue Miller include her spouse Charles Miller; Son Antwon Miller; Daughter Maria Patten; Brother Alfred (Mary) Williams; her partner for many years James (Pappy) Chandler; Sister Terry Williams and Myra Lewis; Sister-in-law Gearldine Williams; Varnie Edwards who was raised with her as a sister; Thaddeus Reon and Raymond Chandler who were like brothers to her; three grandsons Sylvester Anderson, Tyson Anderson and Jaleeel Miller; four granddaughters Jasmine Sulton, Amelia Miller, Stephanie Dozier, and Malia Patten; 8 Great Grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
