Lonnie Kitchings entered his eternal rest on July 3, 2020 at Augusta University. He is the youngest son of the late Delaware and Elouise Jerry Kitchings. He was born on April 26, 1949 in Aiken County. Lonnie was affectionate known as “Bean”, “SkullCap” or “Will”. He was preceded in death by two sister and three brothers.
He was joined in holy matrimony with the late Junita Davis Kitchings on November 30, 1973. The union resulted in three children.
He attended A.L. Corbett High School and graduated in 1967. He also attended Aiken Technical College and Midlands Technical College.
At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and joined the Saron Baptist Church. While serving at Saron he has served in several ministries including the Deacon board, Sons of Saron, trustees board and as the church sexton. Lonnie loved the Lord and his Saron church family.
He served in the US Army from 1968-1970. He worked as a welder and metal fabricator at several plants including Nucor Building System and Nassau AT&T of Swansea, SC.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Nytia Kitchings or Wagener, SC, Rajudra Kitcings of Columbia, sc, Lonjamhel Kitchings of Wagener, sc; one granddaughter Karina Lawerence of Wagener, sc; one brother, Dennis Kitchings; one sister Mary Frances Richardson; one Aunt Katherine Johnson; Four Sister in Law Vernell( Elive ) McDowell, Dorothy Ruth (Rev. Richard) Martin, Sandra ( Antony) Simpkins, Lucinda Wise; 4 Brothers in law Melvin ( Connie) Davis; Leonard Davis, James (Deloris) Williams, Melvin Davenport; 2 Godsons Trevor Ashford, Xavier Keitt; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
