Mr. Longus Corley Sr., son of the later Mr. Robert and Clara Corley departed this life Friday, December 30, 2022 while at his home surrounded by his family. Longus was loved and admired for his smile, and warm personality.
Longus attended the Friendship Baptist Church and graduated from Schofield High School. He later attended trade school in Maryland.
Longus received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in life. He was Baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Wagener, SC. Upon moving to Maryland, he joined First Baptist Highland Park. He was a strong Christian who was dedicated to Praise and dedicating to teaching things of God. He later joined Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon which he truly enjoyed.
Longus was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Gethsemane 625.
Longus was united in Holy wedlock to Ms. Levici Quattlebaum. To this union they were blessed with four children. Longus enjoyed listening to music and sitting outside in the fresh air and sun.
Longus was preceded in death by his wife; Seven Sisters, Beatrice Johnson, Lila Mae Patterson, Gladys Priester Quattlebaum, Gertrude Ward, Lillian Corley, Pearl Jackson, and Latisha Cue; two brothers Robert Corley Jr., and Charles Corley.
Longus leaves to cherish and remember his legacy two sons, Longus Corley Jr. of Orangeburg, SC, and Jonathan (Trinka) Corley of Springfield, SC; two daughters, Arlene Corley and Brenda Corley, both of Wagener, SC; One sister Elizabeth (David) Smalls of Washington, DC; Four brothers Eugene Corley of Columbia, SC, Alvin (Vanetta) Corley of Wagener, SC, Leon (Mary Frances) Corley of Columbia, SC and Calvin Corley of Columbia, SC; and a host of grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends.
