A TIME TO BE BORN
John "Lindsay" Caughman was born on July 16, 1958 in Lexington County, Lexington South Carolina to the late Mr. Johnny Wesley and Mrs. Cubia Davis Caughman.

A TIME TO LIVE
At an early age, "Lindsay" joined Mount Olive Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME), Where he attended Sunday School and church services on a regular basis, and when his health would allow him. Under the Leadership of Reverend B.T. Martin, "Lindsay" and Woodrow Davis were responsible for the Annual Veterans Program held in November of each year at Mount Olive CME.
In his childhood days "Lindsay" was a Boy Scout, where he advanced to an Explorer under "The Charlie Blackwell Boy Scout Troup." He went on to graduate in the year of 1976 from Lexington High School and afterwards attended Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, later graduating from Trenton college in Trenton, New Jersey, where he obtained his Associates Degree.
"Lindsay" was a Sergent in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Dix, in New Jersey. He was a member of the American Legion Post #217. He was not only a member during his tenure, but served as Past Commander of that Post. "Lindsay" worked at Whaley food, and PSS World Medical Pharmaceutical, and later for many years at NCR in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Johnny was preceded in death b his mother and father; his brothers, Thomas Edward Caughman and Herbie David Caughman; Grandparents, Olia and Milledge Davis; and his mother-in-law, Louise Harley.

A TIME TO GRIEVE
"Lindsay" leaves to cherish fond and loving memories; his wife of thirty-five years, Denise Harley Caughman; sons John Parks of Columbia, SC and Eric Harley of West Columbia, SC; Grandchildren, Dashun Battle, Kenyon Hopson, Audrey Colman, Isabell Parks all of New York,; T-Erika Harley and Sha-maria Harley of Houston, Texas. One sister Mineva (Rogers) Cook; and one brother, Terrance Rex Caughman-Karen, both of Lexington, South Carolina. His Father-in-law Edward Prioleau of West Columbia, South Carolina; and loving children, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Service Information


Funeral services for Mr Johnny Caughman will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 1:00pm at Mt. Olive CME Church located at 567 Gibson Road, Lexington SC.
