On Friday, August 20, 2021, God stretched forth his mighty hand to claim one of His own, Sister Ethel Mea Thomas.
Ethel was born in Columbia, SC on January 12, 1966 to the late Bishop Douglas C. Thomas Sr. and the late Mamie H. Thomas.
Sister Thomas attended the public schools of Lexington County. She joined Power House Church of God By Faith in 2014 under the leadership of Elder David and Minister Mabelle Lucas, where she was an active member until her passing.
Sister Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas C. Thomas Sr. and Mamie H. Thomas, sister Irene Thomas, brothers Asetural Haltiwanger, Lee Lavern Thomas(Bubba), Isaac Ezekiel Thomas, and Reginald Bernard Thomas.
Sister Thomas leaves to cherish her precious and loving memory her long life partner Douglas James Mayes Jr. and five children: Rosaland D. Thomas, Frances L. Mayes, Douglas J. Mayes Jr. , Antonio Mayes, and Nehemiah J. Mayes; sisters Geraldine Tolbert, Carrie Mae Smith, Thomasena Bennett, Luevernia (Johnnie) Favor, and Rosetta (Michael) Seawright; Brothers Douglas C. Thomas Jr, Asetrual Gene Thomas, Johnathan (Hattie) Thomas, Willie James Thomas, and Kenneth Thomas; Grands and Great-grand Danielle Nicole Thomas, Ronald Millhouse Jr. , LaRhonda Dale Millhouse, Douglas James Mayes III, Lalicia Mayes, Londyn Marie Mayes, and Reginald Isasac Thomas; a Special daughter Patricia (Terry) Porterfield and a host of nieces , nephews, family and friends.
