Miss Christine Vickie Lester “Nana” Hudson was Born May 26, 1944, to the late John Quincy Hudson and Hazel A. Hudson. She went home to be her Lord Wednesday August 24, 2022.
She was a lifelong member of the Saron Baptist Church where she sang in the Inspirational Choir, and was a member of the Kitchen Ministry. She loves her church, her Pastor, and First Lady.
Christine is a Graduate of A.L. Corbett High School, Wagener, South Carolina where she was a star basketball player and won many awards. She is a proud member of the A. L. Corbett Alumni.
She was Christine Extraordinaire and had to have her own way. She loved taking care of people in the community by making sure they had food to eat. The football and basketball teams from A.L. Corbett looked forward to game days, because they knew they would eat well from Ms. Christine’s house. Our family gathered at Nana’s as she was affectionately known for all holidays and any occasion she decided that she was cooking for everybody.
She was preceded in death by brothers, O’Neal “Sonny” Hudson and John Q. Hudson, Jr. and a sister, Linda Faye Hudson Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughter, Miosha N. Hudson, grand-children, Anthony, Aaron, and Aubrie, great grands, Jaiden Jaida, Auriel, and Jordan. Sister, Virginia J. Kitchings (Perrie), brother, Ronald R. Hudson (Mary), sister-in-law, Malcoretta T. Hudson, brother-in-law, Fred Williams, her other sisters, Evelyn Williams and Mary Myers, caregiver, Sherry Sanders. Christine has many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Nana loved and kept all of her nieces and nephews at some point in their lives: Corey (Denise), Keena (Leonard), Marlon (Pamela), Brian, Nakia, MaRonda, Alisha, Quan (TJ), Trefron, Frank, Trey, Johniya, Kesean, Justin, Jessica, Jeremiah, Brailynn, Cameron, Quincy, Brooklynn, Gabby, Reginald, and Talia.
As a family we do not see Christine’s life or death as a loss. She lived her life undefeated. Nana never lost her faith, her humor, nor her love for Christ and people. She came to the end of her season UNDEFEATED!
