Alphonzo Jones was born June 16, 1951 in Aiken County, South Carolina, and departed this life on May 13, 2023 while at Detroit Receiving Hospital, Detroit Michigan.
Alphonzo was educated in Aiken County Public Schools, graduating from Wagener-Salley High School in 1971. He played football, had enormous charm and a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh which allowed him to attract many friendships during his lifetime.
Those left to enjoy the memories of the life that Alphonzo lived include his daughters, Pamela M. Porter, Irmo, SC; Tameka Jones Monroe, Columbia, SC; LaDonna Nichelle Jones, Conyers, GA. Siblings: Shirley Jones Fluker, Pine Buff, Arkansas; Rosemary Jones-Brooks, Columbia, SC. Grandchildren, devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Services of remembrances will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday May 27, 2023 10:00AM. In the event of inclement weather the services will be held in the funeral home chapel.
