Mr. William Benjamin Holmes, a loving father, grandfather and friend to many entered into eternal rest after a brief illness at his residence on April 7, 2018. He was born on September 15, 1932 in Aiken County. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Mrs. Margaret Holmes and his sister the late Mrs. Betty Williams. William affectionately know as "Ben" worked at Metal Steel in Aiken, SC for over twenty years. He also worked for the town of Salley, SC for over ten years until he retired. He loved to listen to music while cooking his famous Sunday dishes. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could be found outside tending to his Garden. Granddaddy Ben loved his family with all of his heart. He was especially fond of sitting in his favorite chair watching his grands and great grands play outside. He leaves to cherish his precious memories; three daughters, Ms. Sharone B. Holmes of Salley, SC, Ms. Mary Barrett of Savannah, GA and Ms. Suzanne Holmes of Salley, SC; two sons, Mr. Henry (Abbie) Holmes and Mr. William "Scoop" Holmes both of Salley, SC. One God daughter, Mrs. Francina "Teen" (Jack) Ross of Granitevile. SC; one brother Willie Henry Homes of White Plains, NY, two sisters; Nancy Cook of grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. Also host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

VISITATION: The family of Mr. William Benjamin Holmes will be accepting friends and well wishers on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home of Wagener, SC. FUNERAL: A Celebration Of Life For Mr. William Benjamin Holmes will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, 1186 Smyrna Church Road Springfield, SC 29146.
