Born in Lexington, SC on February 16, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Robert Louis Green and the late Bessie Aretha Strother Green.  Terri was educated in the public schools of Lexington, SC and was one of the first African American students to integrate Lexington School District 1 in the fall of 1969.   She was a 1976 honor graduate of Lexington High School and furthered her education earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina (USC).   While at USC, she pledged the Theta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  After graduating in May 1980, she was employed at the South Carolina Office of the State Auditor (SAO) as an Auditor.  She rose through the ranks at the Auditor's Office and retired after becoming an Audit Manager.  During this time, she became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Governmental Financial Manager (CGFM).  She also joined several professional organizations and served as a licensed Notary Public for many years.

While employed at SAO Terri entered the U.S. Naval Reserves as an officer and honorably served her country for almost 15 years.  During that time, she rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander – Supply Corps.  She treasured her time in the Supply Corps and was proud to be a US veteran.

Terri was a long-time, faithful member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, SC.  Her love for the Lord and prayer provided her strength throughout her life.

Geathers of Columbia, SC, her brother, Henry Robert Green of Lexington, SC; aunts, Thelma Powell Strother of Lexington, SC, Arlene Green Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio, and Costina Green Bobo of Honea Path, SC; and other relatives and friends.
