Shakimma Pontoo, daughter of Rhonda Sampson, was born in Augusta, GA on July 31, 1980 and departed this life on April 6, 2023.

Shakimma attended the public schools of Aiken County, SC and graduated with the class of 2004.  At an early age she joined Smyrna Baptist Church where she was later baptized.

Shakimma enlisted in the US army immediately after graduating from high school.  She served a short term at Ft. Jackson Army base in Columbia, SC. She later persued a career as a truck driver which she continued until becoming ill.

Shakimma leaves to cherish the life she lived 3 children, Shemarr and Halle Pontoo of Aiken SC and Kentrell Pontoo of Cheraw, SC; her mother Ronda (Norris) Sampson; and honorary step-father Franklin Kemp; a brother Timothy (Kim Norris) Patrick; 2 sisters Jennifer Pontoo of Atlanta Ga and Edie Pontoo of Barnwell, SC; 2 aunts Rosalyn Pontoo and Kenae Pontoo; 2 Uncles Randall Pontoo and Kelvin (Dedra) Pontoo; A dear friend Demetric Davenport, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
