Rosa Lee Mayers answered God's call for external rest on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Lexington Medical Extended Care. Mrs. Rosa Mayers was born on June 30, 1924 in Lexington, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Dent Sr. and Beatrice Perry Dent. She attended school in Lexington, SC. She was also a care taker of many families in Gilbert, SC. She was an active member of Spring Hill AME Church of Gilbert, SC until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband L.B. Mayers, 3 daughters; Mary Summers, Janice Mayers, and Sylvia Mayers McCoy. 2 brothers; Jake Dent and Willie Dent Jr. Two sisters; Marville Robinson and Florance Johnson. One sister in law Lula B. Dart and one brother in law Ernast Robinson. Rosa leaves to cherish her loving memories: Two sons; James Steven Mayars and David Summers. One sister; Essie Lee Devault. Three grandchildren; Cassandra Summers of Lexington, SC, Tammy Mayers of Lexington, SC, and Patrick Wise of Charlotte, NC. One sister in law Gennie Mae Dent and a devoted friend Thesslana Cook. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and friends.
