Rodney McKensey James Jr., affectionately known as "Hot-rod" was born on July 19, 2000 to Yolang Posey,  the late Rodney James Sr.  He passed on April 28, 2024.

Rodney was born in Aiken, South Carolina and was a lifelong resident of Wagener, South Carolina.  He attended the schools of Aiken County, South Carolina before transferring to Airport High School in West Columbia, SC.  Rodney attended Chalk Hill Baptist Church.

Rodney enjoyed cooking out of family events, helping others and racing cars like his daddy. He loved get togethers and enjoyed dancing, eating and talking junk to his family and friends.

Rodney was preceded in passing by his father, grandmother Eleanor Posey and uncles Ulysess James and Gregg James.

Rodney leaves to cherish the life that he lived two sons: Kacey M. James and Travon R. Lofton; Mother Yolang Posey, Aiken, SC; Two sisters Lyric Posey, Aiken, SC and Tyshawna James, Wagener, SC;  Brothers Andre Posey, Wagener, SC and Brandon Cooper, VA; Step brogher Tyquan Williams; Grandparents Janet and Ulysses James, Wagener, SC, God parent Emma Staley; a Sisterly friend Tamika Staley; special step-mother Ann Stone,  and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
