Today is Robert "Bob" Green Sr., commencement.  This is his graduation from the University of Life.

Robert Green Sr. was the third child of the late Jerry and Janie Reed-Green.  He was born on July 10, 1944, and departed this life on June 21, 2024, at Anchor Rehab Center in Aiken, South Carolina.

Robert sought the Lord at an early age with his membership at Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church, and later moving his letter to Saron Baptist Church and also fellowshipping at Calidonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Robert was a graduate of A.L. Corbett High School.  He started his career at Fiberglass and later at Delta Airlines.  He later retired from Delta Airlines after 28 years of employment.

Robert was wed in Holy Matrimony to Lillie Mae Smith on June 15, 1968.  To this union they were blessed to have a son, Robert Green Jr.

Robert was the ultimate servant.  He was a humble and loving man of God.  Those who met him never forgot him, and his harmonious ways.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Arthur Lee, Eddie, and Jessie.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Lillie Mae S. Green; his son and name's sake Robert Green Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Two sisters Irene McCarther of Augusta, GA, and Alverta Gant of Florida; Two brothers Johnnie Green of Augusta, GA, and Earnest Green of New York; God-daughter Shay, Aisha (Chad) Fichter; One sister-in-law Loretta (Gary) Smith; three brothers-in-law Reverend George A. (Betty) Smith, Joseph M. Smith and Albert L. Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
