Obituary

Pearlean M. Kitchings was born to the late Jackson and Rosabell Warren McCullough on April 26, 1927 in Kitchings Mill, South Carolina. She took her transition to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, July 18, 2017. She joined Zion Hill Baptist Church at an early age where she served as a member of the Usher Board. She later became a member of Saron Baptist Church to be with her husband and children. She served on the Kitchen Ministry, President of the Gospel Choir, Senior Ministry and Deaconess Ministry. Mother was employed by Dr. & Mrs. Robert Worrell as well as Mr. & Mrs. Colby (Bud) Furtick for many years. She was then employed by the County of Aiken as a Custodial Supervisor and after retiring from there she went to work at the Wagener Post Office. She had a love for cooking and baking and was known as one of the "Cake Ladies." Everyone was welcomed to her home and she was most happy when she saw others enjoy her creations. She was united in holy matrimony to L. J. Kitchings in 1946 and to this union 10 children were born. Her husband and one son, Alvin, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were sisters; Cozee McCullough, Gladys Jones, Ora Lee McCullough, Reather M. Johnson, Vinnie McCullough and 1 brother Leroy McCullough. She leaves to cherish her many beautiful memory: 9 children, Perrie (JoAn) Kitchings, Judy (Lewis) Johnson, Loretta (Pastor Herman) Bing, Lewis (Brenda) Kitchings, Elonzo (Janice) Kitchings, Diane K. Buckson, Allen Kitchings, Debra Kitchings and Rosa (Earl) Jones. Twenty-three (23) grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and 1 sister, Annie L. Anderson. She reared her nephews James McCullough, Robert McCullough and George Rowe. Mother had a special bond with her nephews and their spouses as well as the Worrell and Furtick families. She also leaves to cherish her memory many godchildren, church family, especially her Pastor and First Lady whom she loved dearly. Our mother will always live on forever in our hearts.
