Ms. Naomi Taylor, daughter of the late Mr. Alaska Taylor and Mrs. Gussie Derrick Taylor Davis, was born in Lexington County, South Carolina on September 7, 1930. She Departed this life of September 20, 2012 at the Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina.
At an early age, Naomi accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Spring Hill A.M.E. Church, Gilbert South Carolina.
She received her elementary and high school education in Lexington County public schools. She received her BA degree from Allen University, Columbia, South Carolina with a degree in Elementary Education.
Naomi loved to write, and she dearly loved children. It is no wonder that her profession was teaching! She taught in the public schools of New York for 36 years until her retirement.
She loved her church and was a member of the Senior Choir, Senior Citizens Ministry, Sunday school, Lay, and the Corresponding Secretary for the Spring Hill Missionary Society. Her other affiliations included: Eastern Star in which she was a secretary for a number of years.
Naomi leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters; Stellouise Draft, Juanita(Ralph Iles Sr.) Five Nephews - Steve(Phyllis) Taylor; Willie (Carrie) McLone; Vincent (Amanda) Taylor; /ralph Lies, Jr. (Lynelle); Reggie (Rosa)Lies; Two Nieces- Christine Johnson and Tandy Lies (David) and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her loving advice and kindness. She was predeceased by three brothers, William H. Taylor, George Taylor, Jerry B. Taylor and one sister, Eva Taylor Smith. Special thanks to Ms. Petring Taylor a Very Special Niece who was there to care for her. And also a dear longtime friend Ms. Florisha Kinard.

VISITATION
The family will be greeting friends and well wishers on Sunday, September 23,2012 between the hours of 3pm and 7pm at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 701 Hendrix St. Lexington, SC.
FUNERAL
Homegoing services for Ms. Naomi Taylor will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Spring Hill AME Church, 224 Windy Hill Ct. Gilbert , SC. Viewing will begin at 11 am and will continue until the start of services at 12:00 noon. The Reverend China will be officiating.
