Obituary

Marjorie Pough Davis, daughter of the late Addlee Pough and the late Lenton Amaker was born on October 23, 1944, and peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on December 25, 2024 while surrounded by her loving family.

Marjorie was born in North, South Carolina, but later moved to Pelion, South Carolina where she has lived for over 40 years.  She attended and graduated from Dover Middle/High School.  At an early age Marjorie Joined Maloney Baptist Church.  She was a member there for over 30 years and was the mother of the church.

Marjorie worked for Lexington District One in food services.  She worked there faithfully for over 35 years before she retired.

Marjorie was married to Willie B. Davis Jr., and to this union they were blessed to have 3 loving children.  She was a super mom to her kids and was always there when they needed her.  She was their "Rock" and thought to be the best cook in South Carolina.

Marjorie was preceded in passing by her parents, her sisters, Essie Mae Gleaton, Geneve Pough, and Janie Caldwell; and special friend/sister Mattie Ross.

Those left to cherish the life moments that they spent with Marjorie include her husband of 55 years Willie B. Davis Jr. BKA "Peg", Pelion SC; One son Willie (Michelle) Davis III; Two daughters Marie (Michael) Davis-Knight, Lexington, SC, and Lisa Davis, Pelion, SC; Nine Grandchildren, Sean (Natalie) Davis, South Congaree, SC, Terry (Samatha) Davis, Chapin, SC, Malcolm, Ethan and Payton Davis, Pelion SC,  Zyan Davis, Lexington SC,  Jorden Davis,  Aiden Davis, and Ian Davis all of Irmo, SC; Four Great grandchildren Ari, Braylon, Elani, and Kayden Davis; Sisters Louis Livingston, Williamsburg, NJ, Rovenia Fogle, Neeses, SC, Jacqueline (Eric) Bell, Springfield, SC, Yvonne (Reggie) Salley, North, SC, Louise Toland, North, SC, and Rhoda (Michael) Allen, Nework, DE; Brothers Tommy (Florine) Pough, Pelion, SC, Leston Toland, Columbia, SC, John Hammonds, Orangeburg, SC, and  Norman Hammond, Bioxli, Mississippi; One aunt Mildred Amaker Wright, North, SC; God Daughters Lakeshia Jorden and Michelle Ross, and many nieces, nephews, cousins other family members and friends.
