Mrs. Marie Phillips Young was born on April 13, 1946 to Mrs. Carretha Phillips and to the late Harold Phillips. Marie Young entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Mrs. Marie Phillips Young was employed as a custodian at the Pelion Middle School, and retired from the National Linen Service when her health began to fail. She was an active member of Darian Baptist Church and she also fellowship with the Emmanuel Church Our Lord of Jesus Christ. Preceding her in death one daughter: Annette Phillips Gentry, seven brothers, two sister and grandparents. Mrs. Marie Phillips Young leaves to cherish her precious memories; her husband Larry Phillip Young of Columbia, SC; one son Larry Phillip Young Jr. of Wagener, SC; three daughters Doretha Phillips of Pelion, SC, Hope Phillips Mack of Gaston, SC, LaPonda Phillips (Garrell) Parris of West Columbia, SC, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and awesome, loving, caring caregiver Shonda Jones of North, SC. Five sisters Joan Stroman of West Columbia, SC, Edna Phillips of Pelion, SC, Mary (Clyde) Phillips Smith of Aiken, SC, Delorise (Charles) Lott of Johnston, SC. Two sons Bobby (Patricia) Phillips of Gaston, SC and Carl Phillips of Pelion, SC.

Service Information

Visitation for Marie Young will be held at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad Avenue Wagener, SC on Friday January 30, 2015 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services for Marie Young will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 150 East 4th Street Swansea, SC 29160 on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Committal service will be held at Darian Baptist Church cemetery, 211 Darian Church Road Pelion, SC 29123.
