Manuel Clyde Brown was born July 30, 1928 in Lexington, SC to the late Vic and Myrtis Vesta Brown. He was educated in SC Public Schools and worked for many years at Carolina Steel and Wire. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Annie Adams(who preceded him in death). To that union, nine children were born. M.C. loved his family and found joy in being with them. In 1981, after many years of careful study, he dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized that dedication by being baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed many years of faithful service in the Batesburg Congregation. He found great joy in teaching others about Jehovah God and took comfort in the truths he learned from the Bible. M.C. leaves behind many sorrowful family and friends. M.C. is survived by 9 children: Vickie Jenkins of Leesville, Vicson(Carolyn) Brown of Lexington, Mildred(Bernard) Hill of Leesville, Brenda Evans of Leesville, Carolyn(Joe) Hughey of Leesville, Manuel L. Brown of Wagener, Randolph(Annette) Brown of Leesville, Janice(Cliff) Houseal of Leesville, and Aza Lee Davenport of Leesville. Also, 6 sisters-in-law: Maggie Brown, Evelyn Adams, Viola Adams, Geneva Marc, Doris Christian, and Jeanette Adams; 4 brothers-in-law: Olden(Pearl) Adams, Benjamin(Eloise) Adams, Wilbert(Regina) Adams, Thomas(Ruth) Adams. There are also 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, as well as many good friends and close acquaintances.

Service Information

The family will be receiving friends and have a final viewing for Mr. Brown on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 612 Columbia Ave. Batesburg, SC 29006. Funeral services will be July 27, 2013, 3 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah, 4351 HWY 23 South Batesburg, SC.
