The Life..The Legacy..The Memories

Maggie Clemons Robinson, wife, mother, grandmother, and more, was born in Orangeburg County on May 23, 1927.  She was the daughter of the late Isadore and Annie Clemons.  Maggie was picked by God to go home to glory on August 2, 2022.

Maggie spent her life in the towns of Springfield and Salley.  She worked at Salley Manufacturing for many years doing multiple jobs.  She was later employed as a Foster Grandparent in Salley Head Start.

Maggie was joined in holy matrimony to the late Harold Robinson, Sr and they shared many years of marriage until his death.

Maggie joined Oakey Spring Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until her death.

Maggie enjoyed quilting, sewing, working in her yard, playing bingo, baking pies, spending time with family, thrifting, riding with the first person whomever came along, and making you laugh. You knew when Maggie entered the room because she would look around and say, "Who you is?"  followed by, "Who your people?".  To know Maggie was to love Maggie because she never met a stranger or said a harsh word to anyone.

Maggie was preceded in death by her siblings, her children, Mildred Edwards, Emma Anderson, LeeGrand Robinson, and Harold Robinson, Jr.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Maggie is survived by her children Florine Staley of Salley, SC, Dorothy (Ervin) Corbitt, Springfield, SC, Johnnie Mae (Michael) Kearse of Orangeburg, SC, Ronnie (Gladys) Robinson of Columbia, SC, Reada Robinson of the home, Jonathan Robinson of Batesburg, SC, Harry Lee (Thomasina) Robinson of Aiken, SC, Gregory Robinson of Williston, SC and Rutha Mae Porter of Springfield, SC; special grandsons reared in the home James Robinson and Victor Robinson; in laws, James Anderson of North, SC, Roosevelt (Janice) Edwards of Wagener, SC, and Maryanne Robinson of Neeses, SC. Special friends: Flora Harris of Salley and Margaret Jackson of Springfield, SC, forty grandchildren, eighty-six great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
