Lula B. Winston, daughter of the late L.J. DeVault and Essie L. DeVault (still living) was rewarded her heavenly wings on November 20, 2012 at Agape Hospice of Columbia, SC. Lula sas born on June 21,1940 in Gilbert South Carolina. Lula moved to New Jersey at an early age and was educated in the public schools of Elizabeth, New Jersey. She worked as a supervisor in a pharmaceutical production company, prior to her children being born, and then spent the duration of her life as a wife, mother and home-maker. Lula moved back to Gilbert, South Carolina in 1993 with her family and was a member of Spring Hill A.M.E. Church, Gilbert, South Carolina. Lula was a fun loving individual; and for those who knew her, knew she enjoyed living her life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. L.J. DeVault; Husband, Mr. Clarence Winston, Brother, Mr. Clarence J. DeVault and nephew, Mr. Derrick Darby. Lula leaves to cherish her loving memories: two children, Mr. Keith D. DeVault and Mrs. Veronica S. Glover; one sister - Mrs. Azealea D. Bigelow-Green of Gilbert, South Carolina; one brother-in-law - Mr. Willie R. Green of Gilbert, South Carolina; ;four grandchildren - KeShawn DeVault, Tyquez Jackson, Keith DeVault, Jr. and Christopher DeVault; five nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Service Information

The family will be accepting friends on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 3 to 7 pm at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 701 Hendrix St., Lexington, SC. Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Winston will be held on Friday, Novemvber 23, 2012 1:00 PM at the Spring Hill AME Church, 228 Windy Hill Ct., Gilbert SC. Reverend Robert China will be presiding over the services.
