SGT. 1ST CLASS JOHN RUBEN QUATTLEBAUM
John Ruben Quattlebaum, son of the late John Levi and Norma Thomas Quattlebaum departed this life on May 25,2012 after a brief illness.
John, affectionately known as Uncle Ruben, began his life on April 21, 1949. He was a graduate of A.L. Corbett Public School class of 1967, and was drafted into the US Army in 1968, serving in Vietnam and later Desert Storm. John later retired from the military after 26 years of service. John was a member of Jeraselem Lodge 400, CC Johnson Con, Cairo Temple 125, American Legion Post 212, and the 450th Ordinance Co.
John was presided in death by one brother, James Walter Quattlebaum, and two sons; John R. Quattlebaum Jr., and James Russel Quattlebaum.
John leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 18 years, Sharon Miles Quattlebaum; sons, Derrick Dewan and Akinni Jermaine Quattlebaum, Wagener, SC; stepsons Anthony P. Miles, Atlanta, Ga, and Byron (LaTosha) Edwards, Wagener, SC; foster daughter LaQwania Whiteside, Aiken; Grandchildren Nadia Quattlebaum, Damion Robinson, Mikal Whiteside, Kambrie Whiteside, Shateria Edwards, Shyheime Johnson and Kileigh Gilbert; Brother Thomas (Gwen) Quattlebaum; Sister Barbara fuller; Aunts Lillie Bell Woodward, Christine Morgan, Anna Laura Jackson; Sister-in-law Beverly (Solomon) Atkinson, Michael Miles Sr., Rev. Larry (LaTres) Miles, Christopher Miles; nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

VISITATION
The family would like to receive their friends Wednesday May 30, between 3PM and 7PM at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad ave, Wagener, SC between the hours of 3 and 7.
SERVICES
Funeral services for SGT. 1ST Class John Ruben Quattlebaum will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 11:00 AM with viewing starting at 10:00am at Baughmanville Baptist Church, 125 Baughmanville Rd, Wagener, SC 29164. The Rev. Larry K, Miles will be presiding.
COMMITTAL
Committal services will be located at the Baughmanville Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the homegoing services and includes full military honors.
