Jennie V. Miles was born in Wagener, SC to the late Calvin Miles Jr. (Hucie) and Helena Miles. Jennie spent her formative years in and around South Carolina and attended Piney Grove High School in the "skillet." As a young woman, Jennie always worked either farming or in homes. She also worked in the Blueridge peanut Company, from which she retired in the late 80's. She was very devoted to her work and was capable of out bagging the machine. Jennie had a passion for children and cared for them very much. Jennie, affectionately known as Dute, was very happy with her life in South Carolina and adopted four children at the age of 32. She was a quiet person, happy and content to be at home. Dute had a caring spirit and would do anything she could to help another. She gave her life to Christ at the young age of 13 and was baptized at Smerner Baptist Church in Wagener. Later in life, she united with Baughmanville Baptist Church in Wagener, South Carolina. Jennie was called from labor and rewarded after a lengthy illness on July 22, 2013. She leaves to cherish her passing three of her adopted children, Mabel Smith of Reston, VA, Lugenia Smith of South Carolina, and McKinley Walker (Patsy) of Springfield VA. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

Service Information

The family will be receiving friends for viewing Friday, July 26, 2013 3-7 pm at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad Ave Wagener, SC. Funeral services will be held July 27, 2013 1 pm Baughmanville Baptist Church Wagener, SC 29164.
