Jeanette was born on May, 23 1941, to the late Mr. Clabie D. and Connie Edmond, received her call home on Thursday October 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Horace Ramage.
Jeanette was a 1959 graduate of Twin City High School and Salutatorian of her class. She graduated in 1961 from Pope Beauty School in Columbia, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she held many offices; Church Secretary, Missionary, Sunday School Teacher, Steward, and a member of the choir. She also served as District Missionary President of the Charleston Columbia District. She was a member of the Leesville South Carolina Merchants Association and operated the Leesville Coin Laundry and Edmond's Beauty Shop for more than fifty-five years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Electa Chapter #11 where she served as a past Worthy Matron.
She leaves to cherish her memories five sisters: Luadell Edmond of Columbia, SC, Naomi Edmond, Eurlee Steadman, Patricia Fulks,and Thomase (Tony)Martin all of Batesburg-Leesville; Three brothers, Clabie C. (Jessie) Edmond Batesburg-Leesville, Larry (Sonia) Edmond of Augusta, GA and David (Angela)Edmond of Columbia, SC. Five Sisters-in-Laws; Annette Lyles of Batesburg-Leesville, Marjorie Davis of Philadelphia, PA; Two Brothers-in-Laws Willie James Ramage of Missouri and her adopted sister and brother Josephine Robinson and William Schumpert of Batesburg-Leesville, two great aunts Katherine Babb and Essie Mae Hill both of New York. Five aunts Kurlina Gardner of Batesburg-Leesville, Beatrice (Willie) Stephens of Columbia, SC; Mary Ruth Gilree of Spartanburg. Four uncles; Milledge (Linda) Staley of Apple Valley, California, Franklin (Patricia) Staley of Sumter, and George Staley of Mississippi. A host of nieces, nephews, other family members, sorrowing friends and neighbors that will deeply miss her.
Service Information
Public viewing for Mrs. Jeanette Marie Ramage will be held an hour prior to the service starting at 11:00am until Noon, Tuesday October 20,2015 at Wesley Chapel CME Church, 1501 Double Bridges Road Batesburg,SC 29006.
The funeral service will start at Noon, on Tuesday October 20, 2015 at Wesley Chapel CME Church.
The committal will be held at Olive Branch Baptist Church located in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.
