Mr. James Swedenburg was born February 28, 1938. He departed this life on February 01, 2015 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Lonnie and Massie Jones Swedenburg, Sr. At an early age he joined the Chalk Hill Baptist Church. He was married to Devon (Cat) R. Swedenburg on September 13, 1958. To this union five children were born. Two brothers, Solon Swedenburg and Lonnie (Bug) Swedenburg preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories; one son James (Cathy) Swedenburg of Fort Myers, Florida; four daughters, Sherry Swedenburg, Jackie (Dexter) Swedenburg-James, Debra Swedenburg, and Cynthia Prescott, all of Wagener, SC. Two brothers, Willie L. Swedenburg of Wagener, SC and Percel Peter Swedenburg of Philadelphia, PA. Four sisters, Lela Mae Florence and Teacora Kent both of Philadelphia, PA, Ninnie (Joesph) Golson and Vernease (Albert) Edwards all of Wagener, SC. Two brother in-laws, William Washington of Columbia, SC and John (Christine) Robinson of Albany, NY. Thirteen grandchildren, is great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Service Information

Visitation for James Swedenburg will be held at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad Avenue Wagener, SC on Friday February 6, 2015 from 2:00 to 7:00. Funeral services for James Swedenburg will be held at Chalk Hill Baptist Church, 3419 New Holland Road Wagener, SC 29164 on Saturday February 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Committal service will be at the Swedenburg-Gunter cemetery on Seivern Road, Wagener, SC
