Mr. James "Jive" Smith was the son of the late George and Lillie Smith. He departed life peacefully on March 19, 2015 at Pruitt Health in Aiken, SC. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and often worshiped at Calidonia Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Daisy Watson and sons James Ray Smith and Eugene Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory his children George (Betty) Smith, Lillie Mae (Robert) Green, and Albert Smith all of Wagener, SC; Joesph Smith of Monetta, SC and Loretta S. Gary of Batesburg, SC; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family of the late James Smith will be receiving visitors at 861 Old Ninety Six Indian Trail Batesburg, SC 29006 daily between the hours of 6 pm to 9 pm. Visitation for Mr. James Smith will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at The J. H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad Avenue W. Wagener, SC 29164 during the hours of 2 pm to 7 pm. A Celebration of Life For Mr. James Smith will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Calidonia Baptist Church, 1887 Old Ninety Six Indian Trail Batesburg, SC 29006 starting at 1:00 pm.
