James G. Jones, son of the late Ruby Lane Jones and the late James Jones, was born on June 2, 1955, and passed on September 7, 2024, after a brief illness.

James was born in Columbia, South Carolina and has been a member of this community all his life.  He went to Pelion High School and graduated with the Pelion High School class of 1972.  He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in North, SC, and later moved to Hall Hill Baptist church in Pelion, SC where he served on the Deacon Board.

James was married to the late Maggie Jones for 37 years.  During his life he worked as a plumber's assistant, custodian, and traveled the country driving tractor trailers.

At home Bubba could be heard playing his guitar and singing to himself for hours.  He loved to play the guitar ever since he was a child.  Self-taught with a little coaching from his dad, he learned and was able to help others to play the guitar well.  His hobbies were fishing, gardening and working on small engines.  Yes, he loved to tinkle with lawn tractors.  Bubba was an avid collector, he thought he had an edge on collecting aluminum cans and he was holding on to them until the market was high enough to sell them. His cans are piled high.  The joy of his life was to be playing that guitar on a program with his brothers and sisters in the Lord.  His love for Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit was evident every time he played his guitar in the house of God.

James was preceded in passing by his wife, parents, sisters Anne Jones and Ruby Jones "Dolly".

Those left to cherish the times they spent with James include 3 daughters, Selena English of Columbia, SC, Elouise Jones of Louisiana and Tikila McBride of Georgia; 3 sisters Betty Dease, Valarie Hambric, and Ella (Wardell) Epps; 1 brother Jacob (Linda) Corbett, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews', cousins, especially Rutha and Ethel, along with other family members and friends.
