Mr. Jake "Chief" Kitchings, of Syracuse, NY passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 17, 1922 in Aiken County, South Carolina; the youngest of five children born to the late Yank Kitchings and Ruth Kitchings Davis. He was educated in South Carolina. He was a Syracuse resident for more than fifty years and attended New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Kitchings enjoyed playing solitaire, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Mae Harris, Merlene Johnson and Emma Benjamin; one brother, Raymond Kitchings and one nephew, Robert Kitchings. Mr. Jake "Chief" Kitchings leaves to mourn his passing, cherish his memories and celebrate his life, a host of loving nieces and nephews including Wanda Kitchings of Syracuse; great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.

Interment services for Mr. Jake Kitchings will take place at Piney Grove Cemetery in Perry, SC on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
