Horace Mealing Jr. was the son of the late Horace Sr. and Marie Mealing. He was born March 26, 1946 in Edgefield, SC. Horace departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Horace moved to Lexington County at an early age and graduated from Rosenwald High School, class of 1965. After graduating from high school, Horace worked for Glassmaster for a number of years. He later pursued owning his own business. He was the owner of Mealing Fiberglass & Boat Repair for 30 years. Horace was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Albert and David. Horace is survived by his companion Linda Grove; his six daughters Clarissa Jackson of Pelion, SC, Sherri (Yemi) Adenuga of Gaston, SC, Kristen of Irmo, SC, Dana, Kayla and Inge Jones of Lexington, SC, stepson Andrew Grove of Las Vegas; sisters Florence Hiller, Cora Wise, Suietta, Cathy and Katie Broadwater all of Lexington;four brothers Joseph and Freddie Mealing, and Willie "Bill", and Michael "Sam" Broadwater; ten grandcildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family and friends.

Service Information

The family of Mr. Horace Mealing Jr. will be receiving friends and well wishers on Friday August 10, 2018 at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home of Lexington, SC from 4-7 PM. Home going services for Mr. Horace Mealing Jr. will be held at 1 PM on Saturday August 11, 2018 at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 606 W Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072. His remains will be available for viewing at the church from 11 to 12 noon.
