On Tuesday, June 5 2012, Homer closed his eyes to this present world and opened them to eternity. II Timothy 4:6-8, "I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which is the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto them also that love his appearing."
Homer Donnell English was born on June 17,1753 to the late Susie Mae Ross English and Leroy English Sr. in Pelion South Carolina.
Homer received his education in the Pelion Public School System, and joined the Darian Baptist Church at an early age.
Homer, affectionately known as "Donnell", was full of laughter, and loved to go drag racing, fishing and to the market. He worked at Shumperts Texaco (IGA) since 1987 until his health started to decline.
Homer was the father of seven children, one child precede him in death, Rosco McNeil, and one brother Terry English.
Those he left to celebrate his life: his fiancé, Mary Wise of Salley, South Carolina; his sons, Ara (Joy) Hankerson of Bronx, New York, Homer English, Jr. of Avon Park, Florida, Jack Jones of Pelion; his daughters, Chantal Bryant of Avon Park, Florida, Crystal Bryant (Thomas James) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Nicole (Localzo) Hook, Sr. of Wagener, Dainella English (Quentin Hart) of the home; six sisters, Eartha Ross of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mattie Ross Connie English, Catherine (Clarence) Johnson all of Pelion, Shirley Durham and Elouise English both of Columbia, South Carolina; three step-sisters, Sarah Mea (Richard) James of Springfield, South Carolina, Pauline Jackson and Floree (Tommy) all of Pelion, South Carolina; one step-brother, Robert Danley of Clearwater, South Carolina; two aunts, Annie English and Leola English; two great aunts, Thelma Tyler and Lois Jones of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Xavier Holdman, Dominque Bryant, Treven James, Naveah Jones, Localzo Hook Jr., Quentavis Hart; one special niece Nyasia Pough of Pelion, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

VISITATION:
The family will be receiving visitiors at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad ave., Wagener, SC on Sunday June 10 from 3 to 5 pm.
SERVICE:
Salley - Funeral services Mr. Homer English will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church, Salley SC, with Reverend Henry Cook presiding, and Reverend Frederick Quattlebaum officating.
