Mr. Gregory Eugene Harris, son of the late Thomas Alfonzo Harris and Floree Smith Harris was born February 2, 1965, in Columbia, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest in Aiken, South Carolina on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Gregory was educated in the Batesburg-Leesville School system and was a part of the Class of 1985. After high school, he worked for Columbia Farms Poultry Company, as well as various other jobs over the years. Gregory eventually made a home in Aiken, South Carolina. The last few years as his health began to decline, and he spent his time doing the things he enjoyed, he loved to go fishing and tinker with rebuilding old bicycles.
At an early age, Gregory gave his life to Christ and was baptized as a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.
Gregory was preceded in death by his mother and father, a grandson, Amari Khalil; paternal grandparents, Esaw and Thelma Harris; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Allee Rowe Smith and a sister, Alfreda Harris.
He is survived by a son, Gregory Tolen; a daughter, Keycherrie Tolen; seven grandchildren, Dakota, Breanna and Major Quattlebaum, Simier, Aden, Amaliah and Za'Kai Tolen; three brothers, Thomas Harris, Jr. of Mississippi, Ricky Barr of New Jersey, Adrian Staley of West Columbia, South Carolina; three sisters, Teresa (Kevin) Summers of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, Lily Gatling (Archie) of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Marie Etheredge of Columbia, South Carolina; four aunts, Dorothy Goodwin of Irmo, South Carolina, Joan Foulks of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, Betty Armstrong of Ocala, Florida and Dorothy Edwards of Aiken, South Carolina, one uncle, Wilbur Harris of West Columbia, South Carolina; a special friend considered as a brother, Leroy Harris of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; a special lady friend, Lisa Ward of Aiken, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
