Gladys Williams was sent to "Rest" by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 5, 2021.
Gladys was born on October 14, 1931 in Salley, SC to the Late Robert Lee Williams of Barnwell, SC, and Abell (Ware) Williams of Springfield, SC. She was the second of three girls.
Gladys was baptized at the tender age of 12 at Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church in Salley, SC. Her father moved the family to New Yourk in the mid 1930's, but she always returned for summer vacations with her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Gladys was a graduate of Jane Adams High School in Bronx, NY, and continued her education and became a nurses aide, working in hospitals for 30 years. In 1978 she decided it was time to go home to stay, making her home in Wagener, where she was with here family. She became "grandmom" and "mommy" to many others who loved her.
Gladys leave to cherish the life that she lived her children, Christine Pollard of Wagener, SC, Andrew Miller of Wagener, SC, and Joan (Fernando) Cannon of Wagener, SC; a sister Willie Mae Burke of Elgin, SC; two grandchildren Janine Jones of NC, Fernando R Cannon of Columbia, SC; four great grands, two great great grands, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
