Obituary

Gennie Mae Dent was a beloved daughter of the late Fred Davis and Lillie Coleman. She was born July 3, 1921 in Lexington County, South Carolina. She was called home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Gennie Mae was educated in the public schools of Lexington County. Gennie Mae joined Spring Hill AME Church at an early age and accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was a faithful member until her health declined. She was a member of the Senor Usher Board, Church School, Senior Citizen Ministry, and the Women's Club. She was also awarded the Women's Club Woman of the Year Award in 2008. She also did domestic and farm work for many years. Gennie Mae was known for her good cooking and was always ready to feed anyone that stopped by. Gennie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Dent Sr., two sons Willie James Dent and Ray Allen Dent. Two daughters, Lillie Mae Dent and Neomia Blewine. One sister Katherine Henderson and one brother Ben Frank Davis.

Service Information

The family will be receiving friends to view Mrs. Gennie Mae Dent on October 30, 2013 from 3 - 7PM. Visitation will be held at the JH Robinson Funeral Home 701 Hendrix St, Lexington, SC. A Going Home service for Mrs. Dent will be held on October 31, 2013 at 1:00PM at Spring Hill AME Church located in Gilbert, SC.
