Mrs. Florence D. Johnson of Gilbert, South Carolina, departed her earthly home on October 28, 2012, in order to be reassigned to a position of peace, comfort, and praise with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Florence was born on March 6, 1921, in Lexington County to the late Willie Sr. and Mary Beatrice Dent. She attended the public schools in Lexington County.
Florence was a devoted lifelong member of Spring Hill AME Church. She was an active member of the senior usher board until her heath declined. Florence enjoyed shopping, dressing up, high heel shoes (the higher the better) and being silly around her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Mr. Simmie Johnson of the home; her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Willie Dent Sr.; Brothers Mr. Jave Dent and Mr. Willie Dent Jr.; Sister Mrs. Merrille Robinson; sister in law Mrs. Lula B. Dent; and brother in law Mr. Earnest Robinson Sr.
Florence leaves to cherish her loving memories two sisters, Essie L.Devault, and Rosa Lee Mayers both of Gilbert, SC; one sister in law, Gennie M. Dent of Gilbert, SC; a devoted nephew, David Summers of New Jersey who was like a son; a special niece, Cassandra Summers of West Columbia who was like a Daughter, Greta Robinson of Lexington, and a host of nieces and nephews that stuck by her and loved her as she loved all of them.
The Johnson family would like to thank the Heartland and staff of Columbia, SC, Gilbert Community Center and Graylan Community Group of Gilbert SC for all their services, specially thank Heartstrings Hospice and staff for all of their kind and loving acts, and all the family and friends of Gilbert and Lexington SC.

Visitation for Florence D. Johnson will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 between the hours of 3 and 7 pm, at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 701 Hendrix St., Lexington, SC 29072.
FUNERAL
Services for Florence D. Johnson will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 11:00am at the Spring Hill AME Church, 228 Windy Hill Rd. Gilbert SC. The Reverend Robert China will be officating, and the Reverend Eric Dent assisting.
