Obituary

Evelton "Kita" Stroman, son of Joseph Lloyd (Marian) and the late Frances Carolyn Brown, was born December 8, 1966 in Aiken County, SC.  He departed this life on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at University Hospital in Augusta, GA.

Evelton attended Aiken County Public Schools and graduated from South Aiken High School in 1985.  Evelton attended JTPA training at Aiken Technical College. He spent his career working in school bus transportation, as a material and machine operator, and most recently with Dominion Energy.

At an early age Evelton accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He accepted Christ at the Antioch Bibleway Church in Wagener, SC. At a young age, "Kita" received the in filing of the Holy Ghost at the Church of God in Christ, under the direction of Bishop Grady Cooks. "Kita" loved playing the drums, often visibly under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Continuing in his Christian journey, he rejoined Antioch Bibleway Church, being water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and serving in the music ministry, where he enjoyed singing in the choir, and leading his favorite song, "Uphold Me" by the Winans, and playing the drums.

On October 29, 2005, Evelton was united in holy matrimony to Sherida Sonya Knox. "Kita" was a loving, caring, protecting, and supporting husband. He gave praise and thanks to the Lord for bringing Sherida into his life.

At home, in the family, and in the community, "Kita" was well known and well respected for his caring heart, tenacious spirit, wit and perseverance, work ethic and integrity. "Kita" enjoyed gathering with family and friends, attending car shows, riding his motorcycle and playing golf with his cousins. Most of all, he loved his family and was a good friend to so many.  And despite his health challenges, he exemplified living life to its fullest.

Evelton leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 15 years, Sherida S. Stroman, Martinez, GA; his father Joseph Lloyd (Marian); brothers, Paul  Brown, Darrel Lloyd (Katherine); sisters, Ferdinanda Corley (Kenith), Chariti Lloyd and Magrietta Lloyd; one godson, Jakub Konrad Zimon; one goddaughter, Eboni Williams; three uncles, Willie (Bertha) Lloyd, Jr, Miami, FL; Oscar Daniel (Janet) Stroman, Jr. Blythewood, South Carolina; Paul Edward (Frazella) Stroman, Columbia, SC; one aunt, Alma Dunbar (David), Sally SC;  a great uncle, Joe Louis (Earlene) McKie, Columbia, South Carolina; a great aunt, Dollie D.
