Ernest Woodward was born in Aiken, SC on July 23, 1947 to the late John D. Woodward and Lillie Bell Quattlebaum Woodward. On March 29, 2018 in Williston, SC, a heavenly angel came and escorted him into his eternal rest. Ernest received his education in the Aiken County Public Schools. He was a graduate of A. L. Corbett Class of 1968. At an early age he became a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. He was dedicated to his employment at AGY in Aiken, SC for forty years and retired in 2014. Ernest was preceded in death by his brother, John Dewey Woodward. Ernest Woodward leave those to cherish his precious memories, his children: Anissa (Steve) Richardson of Aiken, SC, Derrick (Tracy) Woodward of Lexington, SC, Monica Young of Columbia, SC, Shedrick Woodward of Wagener, SC, Antonio (Ereka) Mayes of Woodbury, Minnesota and India Woodward of Wagener, SC; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister Evelma (Benjamin) Davenport of Wagener, SC; two brothers Willis Woodward of Washington, SC and Matthew (Gloria) Woodward of Salley, SC; three aunts Anna L. Jackson of Washington, DC, Christine Morgan of Washington, DC and Amelia Moorehead of Washington, DC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Service Information

VISITATION: The family of Mr. Ernest Woodward will be receiving friends and well wishers on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 3-7 pm at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home of Wagener, SC. FUNERAL: Home-going services for Mr. Woodward will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Smyrna Baptist Church, 1186 Smyrna Church Road Springfield, SC 29146, starting at 2:00 PM. Interment will be followed by the home going services at the church cemetery.
