Ernest Edwards was born March 20, 1940 to the late Fabian Corley and Johnnie Mae Tyler Garvin.
He attended A. L. Corbett Public School. He worked at Graniteville Company and retired from Cold Creek Nursery.
In 1964, Ernest "Slim" Edwards married Dorothy Salley and to this union, they begot four children. He was predeceased by one son, Earnest Charles Edwards.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Dorothy Salley Edwards; three children: Mary (Jeffery) Moment, Michael Edwards, James Edwards, and one special grandson, Cameron Edwards; seventeen grands and ten great-grands; two sisters: Dorothy (Hayes) Staley, Dianne (Frank-deceased) Wise; three brothers: Otis (Barbara-deceased) Garvin, Levon (Catherine) Garvin, David (Kathleen) Garvin; six sisters- in-law, four brothers-in-law, one daughter-in-law; one special cousin, Timothy Tyler; four aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Willie Green, Alex Anderson and Rodney Miles Wilson.
Service Information
The family of Mr. Edwards will be receiving friends for a viewing on March 2, 2014 from 3-7PM at the J.H Robinson Funeral Home Chapel, 190 Railroad Ave., Wagener, SC. A Going Home service will be held to honor Mr. Edward's life on Thursday, March 3 at 3PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Salley, SC.
