Obituary

Mrs Ella Mae Bynem , affectionately known as "Lump", was born March 28, 1943 in Aiken County, to the late Willie (Nig) and Georgia Staley. She had two brothers, James (Lou-bell) Staley Sr (Too-Tee) and Earl (Annie Mae) Steadman who both preceded her in death.

After the death of her mother at a young age, her father re-married to Marie Schofield. To this union, two brothers and one sister were added. Clary Lewis (Joyce) Schofield, Elijah (Tim) Staley and Lisa Staley Flott.

Ella Mae began her education at Rosenwald school, Lexington SC and continued it at A.L. Corbett school, Wagener SC.

She later met and married her late husband, Leonard L. Bynem, Sr on February 21, 1965. From that union came five boys. Leonard L. (Keena) Bynem, Jr, Darryl (Coretta) Bynem, Sr., Virgil L. (LaTonya) Bynem, Sr., Dylon (Simeka) Bynem, and Tremaine (Tiffany) Bynem who preceded her in death, and daughter Shakesha Bynem.

She tirelessly worked various jobs to help provide for her family. Warner Bros factory and Wagener MFG company to name a few. But her most recent and fulfilling job was that of domestic duties where she had the opportunity to raise and care for Ethan and Brielle Busbee. She loved them as if they were her own. As a matter of fact, Ethan named his first-born Ella Mae whom they now call "Mae-Mae".

She leaves to cherish her memories, her four sons, Leonard, Darryl, Virgil and Dylon and their wives; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Bynem; ten grandchildren, Trey Bynem, Johniya Bynem, Jeremiah Bynem, Darryl Bynem, Jr (Gabby), Alexander Bynem, Charity (Staphon) Meadors, VJ Bynem, Kobe Bynem and Tyreek Bynem, Jordan Hutchinson; her first great-grandchild that is on the way; five sister-in-laws, Evelyn Green, Thelma Bynem, Lou-Bell Staley, Annie Mae Steadman and Joyce Schofield; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, god-daughters, extended family and friends whom will all miss her dearly.
