Mother Eartha "Dell" Pontoo, 91, was born on January 4, 1933, in Aiken County, to the late Martha (Peterson) Staley and the late Moodge Staley.

Eartha was a member of Saron Baptist Church.  Prior to joining Saron, she attended Red Hill F.B.H. Church, where she served as Mother under the leadership of Bishop James Oliphant.  We are excited and it gives us comfort to know that she accepted Christ in her heart early in life.  She fought a good fight, kept the faith and finished her race on Saturday January 20, 2024.

In addition to her parents, Eartha was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie (Bummie) Pontoo; three sons, Herbert Lee Keitt Jr., Roy Keitt Sr. and infant baby boy; three siblings, Clary Davenport, Gladys Edwards, and LeRoy Staley.

Eartha leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Catherine Swedenburg of Wagener, South Carolina; two sisters in laws, Gladys Lois Pontoo, and Betty Ann Pontoo, both of Wagener, South Carolina; an honorary son/brother in law, Preston Pontoo of North Augusta, South Carolina; four Grandchildren Rhondilyn (Jon) Jackson, of Wagener, South Carolina, Angel (Joshua) Davenport, of Wagener, South Carolina, Roy (Angel) Keitt Jr, of Aiken, South Carolina and Pastor Kenya LaShawn Keitt of Warrenville, South Carolina; four great grandchildren, LaDamian (Deaisha) Keitt, Xavier Keitt, Keittaro Brealon, Ke'Antae Keitt;  three great-great grandchildren, Sa'ya Keitt, Trinity Keitt, Khareem Keitt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She had a special bond with her cousin George (Junebug) Peterson Jr.
