On Friday afternoon, August 7th, 2015, at his residence, 111 Chanstalas Road, Salley, South Carolina. Earnest Lee "Pop" Staley peacefully entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Earnest Lee "Pop" Staley was the son of the late Mr. Lucas Johnson and Mrs. Lucinda Staley. He was born May 1, 1926 in Aiken County, South Carolina. He was a hardworking man and very wise man. He worked many jobs from operating heavy equipment until the most important job came after his retirement and that was his "Ford F-150 Ministry" in the town of Wagener. With his F-150 pick-up truck he would help people by taking them to River's Washer, Piggly Wiggly, Trash Dumps and giving them a ride where ever they needed to go. Sitting in his truck daily talking and telling anyone and anybody who stop by his truck parked uptown about how good God has been to him and his children. How Blessed he was to be loved by so many. That's the love he showed to all mankind.
Preceding his death was his wife, Mrs. Loreane Landy Staley; Sons; Sons-In-Laws; Brother-In-Law; grandchildren and a dear friend Lucille Landy Williams.
Those left to cherish his loving memories: Seven (7) Sons, Mr. Arthur Lee (Elaine) Staley, Mr. Louis Staley, Mr. David Jasper (Retha Mae) Williams, Mr. Matthew (Jeannie) Landy, Mr. Chester (Patricia) Williams, Mr. Melvin Williams, all of Wagener, SC, Mr. Willie Ray Williams of Salley, SC; Ten (10) daughters, Mrs. Burnett S. (Henry) Peterson of Wagener, SC, Mrs. Bertha Mae Adams of Columbia, SC, Mrs. Louise McCullough of Salley, SC, Mrs. Deloris Salley, Mrs. Eartha Lee Robinson, Mrs. Patricia Ann Jackson, all of Wagener, SC, Ms. Lucinda Landy, Mrs. Wanda L. Tyler of Salley, SC, Mrs. Lavenia (Bobby) Corley of Columbia, SC, and Ms. Sugar of Salley, SC; his Mother-In-Law, Mrs. Estelle G. Landy of Wagener, SC; Four (4) Sister-In-Laws, Mrs. Jeannett (Ulysses) James, Mrs. Peggy Williams, Mrs. Rose Mae (Bernard) Livingston and One (1) daughter-in-law, Sally Mae Williams; host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; cousins and many friends, especially "The Ford F-150", friends uptown in the park, and all those who he loved dearly.
Service Information
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11th 2015 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad Avenue, Wagener, SC.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Earnest Lee "Pop" Staley will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, 2015 12:00pm at Chalk Hill Baptist Church, 3419 New Holland Road, Wagener, SC 29164.
The church will be open one hour prior to the service for viewing.
