Dorothy Jones Harris, entered into eternal rest on May 18, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born in Lexington, SC on August 28, 1936 to the late Mr. Willie and Artez Jones. "Dot" was married to the late Mr. David "Buck" Harris. Dorothy was a member of Williams AME Church (formerly Jones Chapel), where she joined at an early age and was an active member until her heath declined. Dorothy was educated in the Lexington County School District, and worked with the Lexington School District, Monroe Calculator, and various other jobs. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Shirley J. Brunson, devoted son in law John Brunson, of Columbia, SC; Grandchildren Mona J. Dreher, Bronx NY and Allen T. Black, Columbia, SC; Great-grandchildren Marcqwis Jones, Bronx, NY, and Taylor Jones, Columbia, SC; four sister Frances Carter, Willie Mae Jones, Earline Smith, and Sarah Watson, all of Lexington, SC; Brother in law John (Debra) Harris, Dixianna, SC, Floyd Anderson, Lexington, SC; Sister in laws Doretha Jones, Gilbert, SC Jannie Bell Harris, Lexington, SC. Dot was preceded in death by Sister Jessie Mae Anderson, Bettye Bowman, Sarah Brown, and Brothers Charlie Jones and George Jones. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Williams AME Church on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Kirk Bellesen presiding.
