Mr. Donnie Smith took his place in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 2, 2015. Donnie was the third child of eight children born on September 16, 1954 to Ms. Elizabeth J. Barnes. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He attended Washington, D.C. public schools. He was very lovable to everyone who came in contact with him. He loved to sing and dance especially to the "Old School" music. He was a very hard working man. He worked at Tidewater Boat Company until he became ill. To know, "Donnie" was to love him. Donnie leaves to cherish his memory: one son Benjamin Tyrell James of Wagener, SC. Three grandchildren: Kiavion Zamir James, Zaniya Elona James, Benjamin Antwon O'neilus James all of Saluda, SC; his mother Ms. Elizabeth J. Barnes of the home. Three brothers James Barnes Jr., Gradie Barnes, and Willie Barnes all of Wagener, SC. One sister-in-law Annie Barnes of Forestville, MD and two brother-in-laws Duane Davenport Sr. and Lone Gunter both of Wagener, SC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Donnie will definitely be missed: Lord knows we love him but God loves him best. The family of the late Donnie Smith appreciates your acts of kindness, your prayers, and your words of consolation during these difficult hours. Service Information

Visitation for Mr. Donnie Smith will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 during the hours of 2 PM to 7 PM at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad Avenue W. Wagener, SC 29164. The homegoing celebration for Mr. Donnie Smith will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2015 beginning at 2:00 PM at the Chalk Hill Baptist Church, 3419 New Holland Road Wagener, SC 29164. Pastor Ronnie Tyler will be officiating. The committal service will be held at the Barr Cemetery in the Red-hill Community, Wagener, SC.
