Deloris Rebecca Young was born February 27, 1952. On February 3, 2021, She went home to be with the Lord. She was the daughter of the late Pernell Sr. and Pansy L. Peterson.

Delois attended Ridge Hill School. At an early age, she became a member of Calidonia Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. Deloris served on kitchen committee, sang on the Inspirational choir, Senior choir and was instrumental in establishing the E. Chandler choir. Deloris attended Aiken Technical College and earned her Associate's degree as a nursing assistant. She was employed with Graniteville company, Chitty's Assisted Living and J.D. Lever Elementary School.

Affectionately called Dee Dee by her family and friends, she was known for her anointed and beautiful singing voice, being a loving and caring family matriarch, her willingness to help everyone, her no nonsense personality and telling it like it is.

On July 12, 1986, Delois was united in marriage to Jimmie Lee Young. This 35-year union was blessed with 8 children. Mrs. Young leaves to cherish her memories:
