Obituary

David Dunbar also known as "Grandpa" and "DD" was born August 5, 1928, to Ed Axson and Molly Dunbar. He was a man who spoke his mind. He loved his wife, grandkids, and welding. His favorite sport was Baseball, and his favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. He also had a special saying "take care of my wife" Which was Alma Dunbar, who he loved dearly. He gained his wings and joined the Lord on March 4, 2022.

During his earlier years, He joined Sardis Baptist Church. He later joined Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church where he served on the Brotherhood and the Senior Choir, where he attended faithfully until his health failed.

He wedded the love of his life, Alma Lloyd on April 12, 1974. Through the years Mr.Dunbar held several jobs including, Power National, SC Highway Department. Mr.Dunbar was also a local Entrepreneur, he and Mrs. Alma Owned D and A Service Station for over 25 years until they retired. They then opened D & A Country Store right in their front yard.

Mr. Dunbar was a self-taught master welder. He was a volunteer fireman for the Salley Fire Department. He enjoyed working in his garden; when he wasn't gardening, he could be found talking on his CB Radio to people all over the United States. His CB handle was "Gas Pumper".

Mr.Dunbar loved and supported his family. He preceded to death by his parents, his daughter, Betty Smith. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Alma L. Dunbar, One daughter, Linda Acoff (William), Brother-in-laws, Joseph Lloyd (Marion), Willie Lloyd Jr. (Bertha). Granddaughters Taunya Swedenburg (Willie), Sonya Smith- McKenzie (Dante). Great-grandchildren, Jerel Swedenburg, Taunija Swedenburg, Oriana Smith, Tayvon McKenzie, Makaijah Walker, Great-Great grandson, Jaceon Swedenburg, and a host of relatives and friends.
