Christine Summers, 76 peacefully transition from this earthly journey to her heavenly home on March 17, 2026. “Chris”, as she was affectionately called, was born on April 5, 1949, in Lexington County. Chris lived a life filled with love, joy, and meaningful connections.
Chris was a beloved individual whose life touched everyone who knew her. She was known for her warm spirit, gentle heart, and unique personality. Chris found happiness in the simple joys of life, including attending church, spending time at HopeBridge at the Oaks Adult Daycare, and hanging out with family and friends. Her smile had a way of brightening any room, and her presence brought comfort and joy to family and friends. She loved wearing earrings and delighted in giving compliments. Her loving and sassy spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Chris was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, till her health declined. She found great joy in worship and fellowship. She especially loved to usher and singing in the Gospel choir, lifting her voice in praise and sharing her happiness with others through song.
Chris was deeply loved and cared for by her family, who ensured she lived a life surrounded by dignity, compassion, and unconditional love. She shared a special bond with those closest to her and will be remembered for the love she gave so freely.
Chris preceded in death by her father, Verdette Rawls, mother, Jestine H. Rawls, one sister Ethel Mae Summers Anderson, two brother Leonard Eugene Hendrix and Larry Eddie Summers.
Chris leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Senita Summers Martin (Leon), of Lexington, SC, loving brother Harry Freddie (Marelda) Summers of Lexington, SC, grandson Antonious D. Summers and great grandson Zyeer Summers of Lexington, SC; two step grandson Brandon (Faith) Martin, Anthony Martin, and host of grands, great grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Chris lived a life measured not by limitations, but by love. She will forever remain in our hearts and will be remembered as a beautiful soul who taught us the true meaning of love, patience, and joy.
