Calvin Bailey Hudson departed this life on October 31, 2011. He was born on February 24, 1939 in Wagener, S.C. Calvin was the son of the late Clarence B. Hudson and Katherine Hudson Keitt and was the husband of Almeta Kelly Hudson. Calvin worked for Armstrong, Firestone, Quinn Freight Line and Goodyear Tire Company, retiring in 2001. At the time of his death he worked for All Parts Auto & Truck Supply Inc of New Haven, CT. He is survived by his wife of 42 years; his three sons, Stewart (Debra) Calvin Kelly; Calvin Eugene Hudson; Barry (Celina) D. Hudson, of New Haven, CT; his daughter, Tammy (Antonio) Dash of Memphis, TN; his six brothers, Robert (Edith) Hudson of Columbia, SC; Henry (Karlane) Kitt of Stone Mountain, GA; Charlie (Joyce) Keitt of Chattanooga, TN; Willie (Beverly) Chestnut of Newark, NJ; Julius (Yolanda) Kitt of Columbia, SC; Ervin Pinckney of Odenton, MD; his sister, Rosetta (Robert) Southerland of Upper Marlboro, MD; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Benzena K. Hudson-Smith and his daughter, Audrey Kelly-Lanier. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT with calling hours at the church from 9-11am.
